Kia Ora,
My name is Lydia. I come from Taiwan and have been in New Zealand since 2003. I graduated from Waikato University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE). I am an optimistic and hardworking person who very much enjoys outdoor activities and making new friends. I love working with children and have the passion and drive to provide them with a quality education.
I have been working at Newstead Country Preschool since 2012. I really like our preschool surround by natural environment and farm animals. I value children’s individuality and believe that children should experience a stimulating and supportive environment that provides opportunities to develop and become confident and competent learners.

Hi, I’ve lived in New Zealand for 20 years now, but originate from the UK….I grew up in Dorset and moved to London when I went to Uni. I’ve also lived in Botswana for 5 years following travelling through Africa.
I love the simple things in life: being outside in nature, camping, animals and spending time with family.
We live in Morrinsville after recently moving from Te Akau.
I’m so excited to be working at Newstead Preschool and can’t believe my luck in finding such a perfect centre that aligns so well with my own teaching philosophy.
I’m a nurturer by nature and believe once a child feels happy, secure and safe they are open and willing to learn and reach their full potential.
