Lydia

Lydia

Kia Ora,

My name is Lydia. I come from Taiwan and have been in New Zealand since 2003. I graduated from Waikato University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE). I am an optimistic and hardworking person who very much enjoys outdoor activities and making new friends. I love working with children and have the passion and drive to provide them with a quality education.

I have been working at Newstead Country Preschool since 2012. I really like our preschool surround by natural environment and farm animals. I value children’s individuality and believe that children should experience a stimulating and supportive environment that provides opportunities to develop and become confident and competent learners.

Wendy

Hello my name is Wendy.

I am a mother of four wonderful children. In 2016 My husband and I moved to Hamilton from Foxton Beach and I joined the team at Newstead Country Preschool. While at NCP I have completed my Bachelor of teaching in ECE and am now a fully registered teacher.

I enjoy spending time with my family, extended family and our dog Izzy. Long walks, going to the beach, gardening, going to the movies or being creative in the kitchen are just a small part of what I enjoy doing.

I am very proud to be part of Newstead Country Preschools staffing. I love the country atmosphere – the wonderful caring and friendly staff, and of course, your amazing children.

I totally agree with Newstead’s philosophy. I think that every child is an individual and deserves a high standard of nurturing and understanding in a safe and caring environment.

Time is one thing that you can’t get back and we all know that our children grow too fast, so you want to make sure that they have the best opportunities they can. Newstead offers the ability to explore, climb trees, get dirty and try new things, all while still being allowed to be a child. I feel that this will help them to develop self-confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging.

I look forward to meeting you and being part of your child’s care.

Tiana

Kia Ora,

My name is Tiana, I am from Rotorua, but moved to Hamilton to continue my Bachelor of Teaching (ECE).

I love working in the outdoor environment with the children and the animals. In my spare time I ride my horse, Tessa, as well as play frisbee with my dog, Roxy on my family’s farm. Although you will also find me babysitting children and taking them for pony rides.

I believe that children learn through making their own mistakes, and learning through play. It is quite a privilege to be a part of their “aha” moment.
